history of a kaz

If you want an overview of my interests and progression over the years, this is the place! It's a little chaotic, but that's me for you.

art of my impsona, Baz, a blue imp with platinum blonde hair, floating in the air in front of an art tablet with a tiny plushie of Blitz from Helluva Boss in front.

This is Baz, my impsona from my newst fandom. but Baz's original form was actually a little different.

going a little farther back...

art of Lucina dressed as Marth with her mask over a burning, fiery background.

Fire Emblem

i got into fire emblem some time around 2005 when i found the gba game in a gamestop and bought it with my allowance, and have been a fan ever since. especially fe7 and awakening

My friends weren't real big into video games, so I didn't really have anyone to nerd out with until Awakening came out in 2012 and I was getting more active in online spaces. I've made a lot of friends over the years in this fandom, it's a gift that keeps on giving (even if I haven't enjoyed all of the new games as much as the ones I played as a kid. They're good games! But they're less my taste).

I also wrote a matt/guy fic, i follow just to find you, that takes place post-canon. it might be my magnum opus? it took about ten years to cook in my head before I was able to actually write it

homestuck

After a couple false starts my friend finally got me to read homestuck in 2012, while we were studying abroad. I caught up right before Cascade dropped and was a fan through to the end of the webcomic, and remember my time in the fandom fondly

I have fantrolls and was a huge multishipper (especially when quadrants got involved) but was particularly fond of johnkat and jade and aradia. and terezi and vrisrezi. i had a lot of interests, okay, i have two hands and four quadrants to work with don't test me

sports anime

For a while after homestuck the only big fandom I was in for a long time was sports anime. I would hop around and try out new shows but I went back to haikyuu!! a lot and then I found oofuri (Ookiku Furikabutte). I will always be a huge fan of hq and oof! they both mean a lot to me and i made some really good friends doing fan events (shipping olympics and sportsfest) every year.

OH also Chihayafuru is incredible and I cannot recommend that one highly enough, it's SO good

pacific rim

art of the kaiju Kaiceph.
pacrim came out in 2013 and I have been in love with it ever since. It probably was the beginnings of my monsterfucker journey, although homestuck def also deserves credit for that. I love the kaiju vs jaeger battles. I love the homage to the kaiju genre. i love the worlduilding, and i fucking LOVE DRIFT COMPATIBILITY AS A CONCEPT.

I'm a big ace who is obsessed with all the varied and complex ways people can love each other, okay, don't look at me. also the scientists are super gay for each other and that's beautiful. AND! the computer is the same VA as GLaDOS how rad is that
characters from the Pacific Rim sequel in their drive suits.

bioware

the foxhole court

by nora sakavich

i will never forget the first time i encountered a story with a character who basically has my exact sexuality. shit's lifechanging when you've gone your whole life assuming you were the only one!

hellaverse

or maybe more accurately, stolitz

i goddamn love these fuckass demons. they have everything i could ever want in a ship, but especially the mutual pining, the deep empathy, the monsterfuckery, the learning and growing to be better for each other...

there was no way i wasn't gonna be feral for them, and for this extremely fun sandbox i get to play in

conventions

other influences...

I've had a lot of other things over the years that have stuck with me for various reasons, and these are most of them! Some I love for the characters, other for the story or worldbuilding or art, some because of the fandom and the friends I made because of them, and a million other myriad reasons.
